Cooking salmon in the dishwasher

Hey guys, today I am going to comment on a video that I found on youtube, it’s how to make salmon in the dishwasher which I found really cool because you can clean your dishes and cook your food at the same time in the same place. I myself have never tried this, but in the future I know that I will try this. The reason I haven’t tried this yet is because my mom is afraid that the bag will open and that her all her dishes will smell like fish and that there will be a huge mess in her dishwasher. I hope you will try this at home. Do you think your mom would let you try that? Although her recipe doesn’t appear to be appetizing I’m sure that there are better recipes than that, because when I make salmon my family gets it fresh from the groceries store like Zehrs or Cosco. The person in the video took it out of a bag and the salmon didn’t even look good when she put it in the dish washer. So make sure that your salmon is always fresh, and in my opinion cook it the real way in the oven. Have a yummy day:)

  1. Hey Nick, if I were you I wouldn't try this because you can probably get really sick for many reasons. One reason is when you put your fish in foil(not water proof)in a dish washer that has soap and water shooting around (jets) you have the possibility of the soap and the water going into your foil and having your fish taste like cascade or something and im sure its not good to eat soap anyways lol. Reason number two is that when you are cooking your fish you are basically steaming(almost smoking) your fish so all the smoke is going on your dishes and not really cleaning them so there is no point in washing them with the fish in there, because when the dish cycle stops all the smoke sets on the dishes and its dirty again. Also when your fish is only wrapped in foil you are losing a lot of flavor that could be in the fish so this would make your fish have no flavor and just taste watery. The only way I can see this working is if you put your fish in a cook's vacuum bag with all your ingredients with it and then vacuum it slightly or seal it, doing this will prevent the water and soap coming in and will stop the smoke going on your dishes, it will also keep all the flavor in your fish. I'm not sure if the bag will melt in the dishwasher tho but it shouldn't because if you watch iron chef, they put them in boiling water so you should be fine. Thanks for showing us this video and I hope you find more weird ways to cook things.

  2. Yeah i agree with Brandon on this one. The reason why for this is because cooking fish in a dishwasher sounds disguisting. The tinfoil woulden't last the cycle. PLus in the video, she puts all her dishes in the washer at the same time, woulden't like left over food like go into the tinfoil packet? Plus its dangerous because if your cooking fish and cleaning your dishes at the same time your fish is going to taste like Dawn Dish detergent or Jet Dry which i'm guessing is going to taste like garbage. I would never do this. Cook it the right way, either the frying pan, oven or bbq.
